An Emotional Connect on the sands of the Beach !
05/03/2016 A call came around 10am from HM of a Govt. school in Esanaikorai, a village in Lalgudi block, One of the most enthusiastic evidyaloka centers ,in Tamilnadu.Esanaikorai kids had come down for a trip to Chennai and wished to meet me. I was more than happy to hear the shout of the kids on the phone about the timings and place to meet me. It was an hot tough day for the kids to finish their visits to the planned places and after crossing the big hurdle of Chennai traffic, they reached the Marina Beach in Chennai. I had communicated to few teachers about the wish of the children and Chandra mam of class 8 Math’s started off immediately. It was dark at 7pm and the children seated on the sands of Marina. As Chandraji and I walked towards them, there was a big roar which went above the sound of those waves. The children came running and circled us. They were all full of beaming smiles to physically meet their otherwise online teacher. Chandraji could not hide her excitement and moved around clicking photos on her phone with the kids. The teachers from school were all praise for the efforts of eVidyaloka and the impact they were visibly seeing in the children. Though we met them for an hour it was all the worth. Their good byes and see you soon are still ringing in my ears. An evening full of emotional connects and sweet smiles ended up as one of the most unexpectedly surprising day. At the end of the day it was explicit that A Teacher is truly a person of respect personified and physical or online presence doesn’t make a difference to the Students.
sorry for the the poor photo clarity and all the red eyes due to our excitement to be with kids rather than quality pic 🙂
